Winzero CompUSR
Report computer and user usage by date as well as user,
computer, computer type and IP address.
Report last logon and logon count by domain Controller or by local
computer.
What is CompUSR and why do I need it?
It is nearly
impossible to get an accurate picture of which users use which Windows
based computers or when the users were last logged on.
The problem is that the users may be logged on to
multiple machines or the users are not logged on at the time of
collection. This poses a problem when you need an accurate report as to
who uses which computer, what type of computer it is and where, by IP
address the computer is located.
You would manually have to use may
different tools sets to get a not so perfect report. This is one reason
why we have incorporated the information gathering to collect computer
names, current logged on user, IP Address and the type of computer
scheduled at different time intervals and accumulate the data over time.
CompUSR allows you to create and save these reports with one
operation.
Can I report when a user has last
logged on and how may times?
Yes. Computer to user version 3.0x and
up can now report both domain and computer last logon and the number of
times a user has logged on information in a user presentable format for
Windows 2000 to 2008 domains as well as servers and workstations.
Can I run reports on
different domains with CompUSR?
Yes,
CompUSR can report from different domains and more. You can add
multiple domains and gather information on several systems with one
operation. You can report by computers from different domains and
different system types with ease if you have administrative rights to the
domains.
What about Computer
types? Can CompUSR report those too?
Absolutely. You can report on the type of Windows NT/2000/2003/2008/XP/Vista/Windows
7 computer
by workstation or servers. You, as an administrator or help desk personnel
can also quickly report which user uses which computer or who is logged on
to a particular computer.
Does this mean anyone
can run the computer reports?
Yes.
But. Anyone can run
reports using CompUSR, however the collection agent on the local
system allows only an operator that is an administrator to collect the
information. Essentially, the collection agent is controlled by the
scheduling service which requires an administrative account and password
to run without compromising Windows inherent security features!
What operating
systems does CompUSR run on?
CompUSR runs on all versions Windows 2000, 2003 and 2008,
as well as Windows XP, Vista and Win7.
Does CompUSR
require client software or agents to be installed?
No. CompUSR accomplishes all of its functions
without the need for an additional agent or client software to be
installed on remote computers.
CompUSR gathers the information using
its own internal agent and the Winzero SheduleManager.

Key Benefits
CompUSR allows you to report which users use which computers in your
Windows NT/2000/2003/2008/XP/Vista/Win7 environments easily. An easy to use GUI allows you to
search by users, by computers by date or by IP address for both workstations and
servers. Perform virtually any collection whether immediate or gathered
over time from a central interface.
-
Run
information gathering immediately and report on the current users and
computers.
-
Run information gathering
over time and track which users use which computer.

Report current state:
computer name, users who access it, IP address, computer type and date.
Schedule information
gathering at different intervals to create an overall snap shot of the
current state of your network.
Save reports in
Microsoft Excel format for later analysis.

required.

CompUSR v3.0x and up
has been designed and tested to run on Microsoft Windows Vista, XP, Win7 and
Windows 2000/2003/2008
I am about to start a
multi-domain migration. Can CompUSR help?
One of the biggest challenges administrators face during a
domain migration is to know which users and workstation can be enabled in
the new domain.
Migration tools that come with Windows or third
party migration tools can not associate users and computers. In a large
migration that requires incremental cutover of users at different
intervals, being able to know which users and which computers to move to
the new domain is crucial to the project.
Users may use more then one workstation or multiple user may use the
same workstation. How do you tell? With CompUSR, it's
as easy as collecting the information over time at different time
intervals and reporting.
