What is DNSReset and why do I need it?
Windows Active
directory based computers, rely on DNS server settings and DNS server
suffixes to connect to network resources. The problem is that in order to
change DNS IP settings and DNS suffixes is a manual process for each
computer. This poses a problem when you are required to change those
settings - you may have many systems on your network that use different
configurations. You would manually have to go into the network settings
of each system and reset the DNS IPs or suffixes. DNSReset allows
you to select multiple systems and view or change DNS settings with ONE
operation.
Can I add multiple
domain suffixes to the domain suffix order list with DNSReset?
Yes,
DNSReset can add multiple domain suffixes to the domain suffix order list
by adding the domain suffixes separated by a comma and more. DNSReset
will automatically set the first entry as the preferred domain suffix and
add all the entries to the domain suffix order list with one operation.
You can easily connect to multiple computers and remotely manage the DNS
settings with ease.
What operating
systems does DNSReset run on?

DNSReset runs on all versions Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000, 2003, 2008, Windows XP
as well as Windows Vista both servers and workstations.
What about DHCP? Can
DNSReset change those too?
Absolutely. DNSReset will override DHCP settings for multiple computers
simultaneously. This feature is handy when DHCP settings can not be reset
for all computers such as projects involved with domain migration or
computer migrations.
I am about to start a
multi-domain migration. Can DNSReset help?
DNSReset was developed for domain migrations. We discovered that during
the workstation and server cut over stage, the computers would take a long
time to respond to the new domain change. Migration tools that are
available commercially do not address this issue.
How do you handle
subsets of computers that can not be set using DHCP? How do you reset the
new domain suffix as the primary domain suffix without visiting each
computer? With DNSReset, it's as easy as a point, select & click.
Does DNSReset require
client software or agents to be installed?
No.
DNSReset accomplishes all of its functions without the need for an
additional agent or client software to be installed on computers. All
remote computers can be handled by a single workstation.
