What is ENTRightsManager and why do I need it?

Windows NT/2000/2003 rights are local polices on computers and domain assigned to users and groups. The problem is that these rights are stored locally for each system or domain controller. This poses a problem when you are required to change account rights - you may have hundreds of systems on your network that use multiple accounts You would manually have to go into the control panel/local policies on each system and reset or set account rights.

ENTRightsManager allows you to select multiple systems and change, add or remove account rights with ONE operation.


Is there a way to find all the rights that use a certain account?
 

Yes. ENTRightsManager can search your entire network and find all rights that meet specific criteria. You can locate and change right assignments based on rights or accounts

Does ENTRightsManager process rights on multiple servers simultaneously?
 

Yes. ENTRightsManager  will process all selected servers or workstations simultaneously.

Does ENTRightsManager require client software or agents to be installed?

No. ENTRightsManager accomplishes all of its functions without the need for agent or client software to be installed on computers to be managed.

  Account Rights Management

User Rights and Group Rights can be managed with Enterprise rights manager by selecting the  computer in the left list view window.

When the User Rights object is expanded, ENTRights Manager will display the individual users or groups rights that are granted the right.

Double clicking on the User Rights object will display the user rights, and all holders of those rights  This permits quickly checking which users or groups are granted individual rights across an entire domain or computer.

Rights can be modified by using the Menu Tasks or Modify Rights menu option. This will display ENTRightsManager's User Rights Properties dialog, permitting additions and removals of users and groups from individual rights.
 

  Account Rights
 

Rights control how security principals are allowed access to the computer, whether from the keyboard or through a network connection, or whether as a service or as a batch job. For each logon Right, there exists a pair of  rights—one to allow logging on to the computer and another to deny logging on to the computer.

Use a deny logon right as you would use a deny permission—to exclude a subset of a group that has been assigned an allow logon right.

Deny rights take precedence over allow rights. Warning The rule to keep in mind is: “Allow a set, and then deny a subset.” Reversing the order can be disastrous.
