Server Comparison Reporter
No difference with a difference - Now you can easily report and illustrate file, folder, share, user, local group, local group membership and installed application differences between any two Windows servers.
Just the "DELTA"s. Reduce overhead and network traffic and report only the differences between servers or report a baseline of server objects
SVRCompare allows you to compare and report folder, file, share user account, local group, local group membership and installed application difference between any two Servers in your Windows NT, 2000 and 2003 environments. With an easy to use user interface, you can simultaneously run the collection agent, perform a comparison between a pair of servers and view the comparison report. The comparison results identify which folders, files, shares, users groups, group members or installed applications do not exist on the target servers, including which files are newer on the source server using the file modification date method. Quickly perform information collection by running the collection agent immediately or gather cumulative reports over time with the built in schedule service. Key Comparison Features:
File, folder and share comparison is performed using a three step process.
Comparison collection gathering can be performed immediately or scheduled to run at a predetermined time. To reduce overhead and network traffic the server collection is generated locally on the collection server.
Again, to reduce overhead and network traffic the server comparison report is generated locally on the comparison server The comparison agent creates the report file and stores it on the comparison server.
Once the comparison is complete, the results are import into the main SVRCompare user interface where the comparison may be sorted, saved, printed or exported to Microsoft Excel. Baseline Reports:
The Current Server object (users, local groups, local group membership, installed applications and server shares) report is run in real time by selecting a collection server with the report being displayed in the main user interface that can be printed or exported in Microsoft Excel format.
SVRCompare v2.0x and up has been designed and tested to run on Microsoft Windows Vista, XP and Windows 2000/2003

What is SVRCompare and why do I need it? It is nearly impossible to get an accurate picture of folder, file, share user account, local group, local group membership and installed application differences between any two Servers. This poses a problem when you need an accurate report as to server differences. You would manually have to use may different tools sets to get a not so perfect report. This is one reason why we have incorporated the information gathering to collect immediately or scheduled at different time intervals and accumulate the data over time. SVRCompare allows you to create and save these reports with one operation. Can I run reports on different domains with SVRCompare? Yes, SVRCompare can report from different domains and more. You can add multiple domains and gather information on several systems with one operation. You can compare servers from different domains and different system types with ease if you have administrative rights to the domains. What type of servers can SVRCompare Report? You can run comparison reports on Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 servers. You, as an administrator or help desk personnel can also quickly run baseline reports of current server objects from multiple selected servers. I am about to start a server data migration. Can SVRCompare help? One of the biggest challenges administrators face during a server migration is to verify that all folders, shares files and local accounts have migrated successfully. Migration tools that come with Windows 2003 or third party migration tools can not associate local accounts and folders. In a large migration that requires incremental cutover of data at different intervals, being able to know that the migrated server is currently up todate is crucial to the project. With SVRCompare, it's as easy as collecting the information over time at different time intervals and reporting the comparison results to make sure the servers match. What operating systems does SVRCompare run on? SVRCompare runs on all versions Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000/2003, as well as Windows XP and Vista. Does SVRCompare require client software or agents to be installed? Yes. SVRCompare accomplishes all of its functions by installing a scheduling service on each server involved in the comparison project. To reduce network traffic and wait times, SVRCompare gathers and compares the information locally on each server using its own internal agent and the Winzero ScheduleManager.
